Pontós is a small, charming village in the Emporda region of Catalunya. It is well situated in Alt Empordà – near beaches, 25 minutes from the ruins of Empuries or the port of Llanca and 30 minutes from Banyoles (Pla de l´Estany) and Olot (La Garrotxa).

It is an ideal place to relax because it is peaceful, but yet readily accessible to larger towns, such as Girona – 25 minutes away, Figueres – 15 minutes away (with high-speed rail connection), Barcelona – 1hr 30mins away or Perpignan – 1 hour away.

Surrounded by fields and forests, Pontós has many marked routes for both walkers and cyclists. (Pontós is on the Camino de Sant Jaume and the Camino de Santiago)
Pontós is ideal for children as they have the freedom to run and play in and around the village without fear or danger.

Pontós is, in fact, a perfect place to relax but also to explore the Empordà region in some depth. Close by there are such wonderful places as: the Aiguamolls National Park, The Muga River, The Cap de Creus National Park, The Albera National Park and the Boadella Reservoir, among many others.
